Just Cause is a action adventure game for the PlayStation 2, Microsoft Windows, Xbox and Xbox 360 developed by Avalanche Studios and published by Eidos Interactive. Just Cause is the first installment in the Just Cause series. It was released on September 22nd 2006 in Europe and September 27th 2006 in North America. The game's island area was a whopping 250,000 acres (1024 km squared)!
Setting[]
Just Cause is set on a fictional South American island called 'San Espirito' where the player plays as a agent Rico Rodriguez who is trying to overthrow the countries dictator Salvador Mendoza. The island is covered with jungles populated with trees mostly. The island sets with small cities and bridges with waving streams and gentle breezes with the sun glistening over the island like a diamond.
Gameplay[]
The game is a third person shooter and driving game (No races included just able to interact with vehicles) with large open enviroment to roam around on. The player is capable with walking, jumping and swimming as well as utilizing weapons and hand to hand combat. Players can take control of boats, jets, planes and cars as they roam through completing their missions. The second mission includes moving to a secured prison with alot of object interaction included.You can choose to do side missions and go off the main mission for a while and explore the world without having to keep on the main missions.
Ratings/Response[]
The ratings were considerably mild. Just Cause for PS2 got a dissapointing 5.5 and PC earned a mild 6.6 while Xbox had a low rating of 4.9 and finally Xbox 360 earning 8.8.
